Marketplace rules & safety
These rules apply to Buy & Sell, Barter & Trade and all stores on UBevents246.
Stay safe when you meet
- Meet in a busy public place in daylight, such as a shopping plaza, bank car park or police station car park. Bring a friend for valuable items.
- Check the item properly before you pay or swap: switch it on, test it, check serial numbers and IMEI for phones.
- Never pay deposits, delivery fees or "holding" money to someone you have not met. Never share bank logins, one-time codes or ID photos.
- Keep your conversation on UBevents246 until you trust the other person, so there is a record if something goes wrong.
- If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Report it.
Barter & trade
- A trade is a private agreement between two members. Agreeing to a trade on UBevents246 is not proof that goods were exchanged.
- Both members tap "Exchange done" after the swap. Only then is the trade marked completed and the listings marked as traded.
- Cash top-ups are agreed between you and paid in person. UBevents246 does not hold money for trades and charges no fee on swaps.
- A trade listing is not for sale for cash unless the owner says so.
Not allowed
- Weapons, ammunition and explosives
- Drugs, cannabis products, prescription medicine
- Alcohol and tobacco sold to minors, or without the needed licence
- Stolen, counterfeit or replica goods
- Adult content or services
- Live animals (except through approved breeders, reviewed first)
- Personal documents, IDs, accounts, gift cards and money transfers
- Anything illegal in Barbados
Vehicles, property and rentals, food and professional services are checked by our team before they go live. You must have the right to sell or rent what you list, and any licence the law requires.
Honest listings
- Use your own real photos and describe faults clearly.
- No fake, replica or "inspired" branded goods.
- Mark items as sold or traded as soon as they are gone.
- Listings pause after 60 days and can be renewed in one tap.
Respect and privacy
- No abusive, threatening, sexual or hateful messages. Keep it PG-13.
- Your address, email and phone are never shown on your listings; only your parish. Share contact details only when you choose to.
- You can block any member and report listings, members or conversations. Reports are private.
Buying from stores
Items with an "Add to cart" button are sold by approved stores through our secure checkout and follow our refund policy. Person-to-person sales and trades are arranged and paid between the members.
What UBevents246 does
We review reports, remove listings that break these rules and suspend members who abuse the marketplace. We do not inspect items and we cannot guarantee person-to-person sales or trades, or recover money or goods. If you are the victim of a crime, contact the Royal Barbados Police Force.
